Adding Zing

Today’s Ragtag Daily Prompt is Zing. What better way to add a little zing to your life than by zinging up your food.

This is by no means an exhaustive display of the zinging agents in our kitchen, but it shows two of the main categories: hot stuff and vinegars. Enjoy!

Hot Stuff
Favorite spicy bits: Sriracha, Cholula, Gochujang, and YinYang.

vinegar
The vinegar club: Red wine, Apple cider–in a dispenser as we use it so often, Balsamic, and Rice.

  1. Hot sauce and vinegar, two of my favourite things! I’ve been known to have “vinegar with chips” rather than “chips with vinegar” 😁 And a good hot sauce just makes everything that little bit better.

  2. My son, over the past six months, has become a Sriracha addict. His favorite meal is stir fried chicken with rice and he covers it with Sriracha like it’s spaghetti sauce. Meanwhile, I dribble a few drops on mine and my mouth’s on fire

  3. The vinegar looks good, but I have to admit that I really don’t care for spicy food at all…. Sounds boring, I know, but to me all the “heat” does is cover up the real taste of the food!
