Perhaps Another Day

Frozen fog morning

Snow possible perhaps sun

Petrichor absent.

Petrichor, the smell created by rain occurring on parched land. The word comes from petros, the greek word for stone, and ichor, the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in greek mythology. As someone who has lived most of my life in a semi arid climate, I understand this. Water is scarce and rain is nearly always welcome and needed. It is a lovely smell.  Thanks for this new to me word, Tracy!

For today’s Ragtag Daily Prompt of Petrichor.

  1. love this. Petrichor is a great word. Snow? not so much. Unless I’m indoors where it’s warm and looking out the window. It’s fun how you have three different kinds of weather present in your haiku
