Arctic cold blast brings

Record low temperatures

The leaves freeze then fall.

 

For today’s Ragtag Daily Prompt of Blast. Snow this time of year is not unusual, but the very low temperatures are.  Its a chilly 14F (-10C) this morning. The bright sunshine is welcome, as is the predicted thaw. I’m always surprised at how a freeze will facilitate the sudden drop of leaves. Yesterday morning they were on the trees, and by afternoon, half had fallen.

  4. Beatiful photos. Our arctic blast didn’t bring snow, but it did bring cold and frost and now everything has stopped fighting and has surrendered. Bear thinks all this is a promise of good things to come, and she’s right.

I garden, travel, am owned by 2 elderly cats, figure skate and am training for my first triathlon. April 2020: Three years later, the two elderly cats have crossed the rainbow bridge, and we now have an 11 year old adoptee, Ziggy. I'm done with triathlon and skating for the time being, and I am still physically active, running, biking and walking. It's now the time of the coronavirus, which is affecting us all.
