Lucy’s Birthday Bash!

Hello again, its me, Lucy One White, CENTENARIAN!

Centenarian is a big word that means I am 100 years old. Yesterday was my birthday and I turned 20 years old in person years. The calculator for cat years says that means it is like a person being 100. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Even though posts of birthday pictures show cakes, I Lucy do not like cake. I do have some favorite eating foods, and my moms gived me some of them for my birthday.  After my morning pill in cream, I had runny egg yolk, and I got to lick the plate clean. Its one of my best things to eat. Then I had salmon, which is another of my best things to eat. I’ve been eating a lot of it recently.

As you may have heard (Mama Steph wrote about it earlier this week) I had a grooming injury on Tuesday. I had to go to the doctor to get it fixed up. There was a hole in my skin and they closed it up with staples.  I am doing good now, and I don’t want to talk about it anymore. The good part of that injury is that my moms have been wanting me to eat good so that I can heal. I’ve had a hearty appetite and I’ve been eating lots of good stuff, chicken, salmon, egg yolk, and fresh can. Fresh can is my special food for old cats with kidney problems. I like it just when it comes out of the can, but after that, it smells wrong and I won’t eat it.

Back to my birthday. Its also Mama Bets’ birthday, so we have lots of cards and stuff. Mama Steph made Mama Bets a cake that I don’t like, but she made me egg custard, which I do like. So I got to have another special thing.

So far its pretty good being old, and I even got a birthday video from my doctor, which my moms played for me and I ignored, because I don’t care about videos and television and stuff. My brother Jules uses to watch the animals on TV, but I Lucy know they aren’t really there so I do my Zen practice and ignore them.

I’m tired now, its hard work having a birthday, and so I’m going to go take another nap. A cat doesn’t get to be an older woman cat like me by neglecting her routines: Plenty of food, plenty of fluids and plenty of rest.
